Watching YouTube vids of bank strap searching I came across a guy saying he held onto 'X' notes... meaning an X at the end of the serial number...
Is there any reasoning behind this?
Are they like collecting star notes?
BTW... I just grabbed $1,000 in $1's from the bank and found a star bill(not very rare according to the website that runs the numbers) and a note ending in X... just curious if there's any upside to the X...
Only searched through 2 straps so far... nothing too major on the serial numbers except a few close calls for radars, binaries, and repeaters etc... can upload pics if it's deemed necessary...

I think we'll need more information about the Series number and the prefix letter in question, preferably a pic.

X notes really don't sell for any premium on ebay - I'ts really all about the serial number.

It's the US equivalent of last prefix, I think.

For some reason 2009 L-X one dollar notes were hard to come by. I think it was because the BEP printed a lot of them but did not release them or released a few and held on to the rest. But again I am not sure. Here is a thread on Wheres george about the 2009 L-X bills. http://forums.wheresgeorge.com/show...L__X-Georges
