Proof - 64, Cameo. The only negative for some collectors is that it has been dipped.

Agree. Just don't completely buy the "polishing lines" statement - polishing lines aren't usually at sharp angles as here. Even if so, they're still a distraction.

A few minor hairlines in the fields, perhaps a few more on the raised features of the design, more obvious on the obverse.
With a silver coin in this high condition, the edge milling should have sharp, almost cutting feeling to it.

Came back PR-62. Horrible grade possibly as a "reply" to its not being sent in Express due to potential value. It's at NGC now under "Express" for another opinion. I saw NOTHING that would have put it below a 64. Let's see what happens this time in the basket. PG

Crap, I'm sorry, I just read your update. Unless I'm missing something on the photos, that looks like a 65 to me. Were there any rim dings?

could you point out what's definitely a die scratch and what's actually a flaw/ real hairline? cause if the long thing behind Liberty is a die scratch, PR-62 isn't a proper grade, but if it's a hairline on the coin, it fits the bill for the current PCGS grade. did you get true views for the coin?
Feel free to call me Will.

Welp, here she is - back from the cleaners erm graders.... and another thang --- NGC correctly attributed my 1840-O Half Eagle as "Large Diameter (Broad Mill)" while a) PCGS won't attribute that variety although it is discussed at length in their "Coin Facts" area; and b) ANACS refused to designate it as such although it was originally broken out of a 1st generation ANACS holder WITH the Broad Mill designation. Love me some TPG's these days.... PG
