I just got my first gold coin today too!
What would you guys say the grade is of this one?
Do you see any problems with it? They said it was AU, but it looks uncirculated to me!?

Nice coin! Not sure why the staff moved it to grading, but whatever. Looks like it came from GSC on ebay, and I have bought some winners from them in the past. I would say AU is a good bet, if not better.

They moved it here because I asked for opinions on grading. I guess I hijacked another guys thread where he posted pics of his first gold coin. That's why I said "me too". Oh well, no biggy. Yes it was from GSC on ebay, they take nice photos. Some members here say they doctor photos and cant be trusted, but the coin arrived and looks EXACTLY like the one in the pic, I'm certain it's the exact same coin. Thanks for responding.

It looks like you did well with an AU-58 going by the pictures, but don't press you luck if that coin is raw and ungraded. There are loads of counterfeits waiting to bite you in the butt. I've been a collector for over 50 years and a dealer. I don't buy raw gold coin coins any more unless it is so cheap and I'm am totally sure that there will not be a problem. Those conditions add up to a null set as the mathematicians say.

Thanks guys, I like AU-58 better than AU-55. According to my CoinManage software bumping it up from a 55 to a 58 raises the value from $477 to $500. Considering I only paid $428 for it I'm happy either way. Besides I'm not selling it EVER!

Oh, and it weighed in @ 8.351 grams. Only .008 grams shy of what it's supposed to weigh.
