I purchased several 1956-P Jefferson nickel Coin Tubes from auction and they are marked with the date, BU, and "PRE". Does anyone know what "PRE" refers to?

The only thing I can come up with is maybe Premium Quality from the CC Glossary, and they are great coins, but just curious about the abbreviation.

Open the cap and see what's inside . Maybe they meant 1956 and predates inside . Or preserved .
