I got ahold of this last week.

Low-Numbered-$5

What's even cooler is that I have a $1 bill numbered 5702!

Now I need to find a ten and a twenty to complete the set.

Good looking number... to bad the note is a little crumpled.

Some people only collect low serial numbers.

Personally, I'd use a hot iron and take some of the wrinkles out of that bill. No kidding! If the edges are intact, and the corners are whole, you could raise the grade on that bill a notch or two. In my reading, it seems that note collectors are more prone to cleaning and pressing their finds to improve appearance than are coin collectors (to cleaning). Of course, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear; if the bill is badly creased, torn, etc., no amount of pressing or cleaning will help.

I've been looking for almost 18 months for a bill with that low a serial number to no avail. Congratulations on your find.

Hot ironing makes it flat for a little while, but the crumples come back. Hot ironing is usually a scam used in shows to make it look valuable.
