Has anyone seen this? Looks like there was maybe grease in the lettering (notice the 2 looks like metal flaked off almost)...

The other looks like part of the metal in the field just flaked off but it is frosty. Seem like it struck through something also (white milky lines).

This silver dollar looks proof-like, meaning it was struck when the dies were somewhat new-ish. Scruffs and bag marks stand out on coins that are proof-like in appearance.

1882 along with 1883 and 1884 Carson City Morgans all had similar mintages, storage history and released in the GSA sales in the 1970s.

It was graded PL. ANACS MS66. Wonder if the lettering and marks in the field hurt the grade from going MS67. Thanks for the reply.

It's a beautiful $1300.00 - $1500.00 Morgan in that grade, just hold it in your hand and enjoy it ,don't look at it magnified!
