Hey, everyone. I've posted pics of a 1967 Lincoln Cent that I received in change a few years back. I've never seen one this color. I also included a normally colored cent so that you can compare with my phone camera. Anyone seen one with this silvery color? It's the right size. These are in my Dansco and I didn't want to take them out. Hope the pics are acceptable. Thanks! "Nummi rari mira sunt, si sumptus ferre potes." - Christophorus filius Scotiae

Oops! I think this is in the wrong forum, but I don't know how to move it. Sorry.

Is it slightly magnetic? If so, is probably nickel plated.

I will have to find a magnet...
The pics don't really show the color properly. It is really almost pink in color. I never considered plating. Why would someone do that?

Because many people like experimenting and doing interesting, and sometimes dumb things with coins..

Thanks for all the info! I'll check with the magnet and maybe try to get a picture that shows the true color in case anyone is interested. The plating must be very thin since a little of the copper color still comes through.

Appears to be plated, what do the edges look like?

I think I'll pull her out of the album and get a better look. I got this coin back in the early seventies when we stopped in SC to buy fireworks. I was a kid, but I remember how odd it was and kept it all these years. At the time, it had a little "slag" stuck to it. May be proof of plating. Haven't tried the magnet yet but I will give it a thorough looking over this weekend and get pictures that show color better (I hope). If I recall, the edges are no different from regular cents.
