One side didn't fair very well in all the years it was buried and forgotten to time, but the intricately detailed bull with a mans head survived. For a coin of this size (11mm) and age (425BC) it is a remarkable level of detail.

The intricate detailing appears to be in the man's head, which as I understand it is a representation of the river god Achelous. At 11mm this is fine engraving indeed, which never ceases to amaze me about some of these small silver pieces.

It's a very nice coin! Glad you got it.

Nice condition. The obverse has to be one of the strangest images I've ever seen on a Greek coin.
