Are these Commemorative coins Authentic?

Seller has two coins for sale. Coins look odd.

I will defer to the commems people but the bottom one looks like a cast copy. Might just be the pic but it just looks to have a grainy surface

I'm no expert but I myself have seen similar USA commemorative coins and they turned out to be Chinese fakes , I wouldn't be surprised if these were also.

Huguenot does look like a fake..

Maine commemorative does not have details. Looks like a cast copy.

Neither looks right to me, but @commems will know in a flash if he reads this.

Weak and worn looking strike on all devices are indicative of a copy, but a Commem. expert needs to chime in.

I would suggest staying away from both ...

A decade of chasing these coins in both MS and circulated state has developed an 'eye' ... long term collectors of any series would understand.

The 1924 Huguenot is a no brainer ... screams counterfeit to me.

With a quick look the 1920 Maine is questionable ... it might be authentic ... but alas a detailed comparison with my know examples simply requires time I do not have right now.

Hope that helps ...

Thank you.

I've been studying commemorative coins recently, and these looked suspicious.

I would never bid on such items...

I am not an expert on these coins, but they look okay to me. Circulation wear on the Maine Centennial, and the Huguenot has been cleaned badly.

They both look fake to me. The faces on the Maine look like mush as well as the wording. Just compare them to some of the holdered ones on ebay as a quick check
