Funny you should bring this up Zimmy, I spoke recently with the production manager in the RCM Winnipeg plant, and he confirmed that the RCM sourced copper-plated steel planchets from Europe for striking the Canadian 1-cent coins (business strikes).
A grooved 2-cent Euro planchet ended up in one of those shipments, and was struck by Canadian 1-cent dies. I am first writing the article for Errorscope, and then submitting it to PCGS to attribution. I suspect this one is unique.
