It is a 10 Yen from Japan.

The pictures are too small for me to tell exactly what year it is, but this type was produced from 1951 up to the present day.

All years for this coin are very common in circulated condition, as yours is.

This is a Japanese 10 Yen, Showa Year 36 (1961). It is really common and is likely not worth more than face value in that condition. 10 yen is ~10 cents.

If it has reeds on the edge, it's worth about 20-25 cents. Plain edge is about 10 cents.

If it reminds you of a memory shared with your grandfather... priceless!
