I have all my Lincoln Memorial cent 1959-2007 D,P,&S. My 81-2007 are all shinny and almost MS. The 59-80 are mainly Brown and AU. I'm going to put them in flips and put them in a 3 ring binder. This is were I need advice. I have found some wonderful nice toned cents rainbow colored, red, dark brown etc. should I use these in the set. Or maybe just start a collection of toned coins.

Seeking: Advice or opinion.

Personally I don't like toned coins. I consider them damaged.

I think it would be neat to have a separate set of toned coins. I'd like to see some pictures when you're done with it.

Toning is often a natural process, unless helped by chemicals which in that case makes it less desirable.
On naturally toned coins, this is simply patina that is thin enough to interfere with the reflected wavelengths.
Here's a brief explanation that applies to many situations as well as toned coins.

SOunds like a fun and challenging set to build! Good luck and post some pics sometime!

I'm not into toned coins much, but I always think about building a MS Brown Lincoln set from 09 up. I love a nice solid brown colored coin.

I agree with arthrene, scott, and snaz. I get a pretty penny or three/cent for rolls of toned coins.
