My dad wants to invest in Gold and Silver coins. I just want to know a good place to buy silver for a reasonable price. Also authentic Gold Coins. I saw this ad in the newspaper about the Us govt 5 dolar gold eagle at 105 per coin (1/1oth of an ounce) from US Rare coin & bullion reserve. Is it trustable. anyone bought from it.

Quote right now from Hannes Tulving is $92.30 (Spot + $5) minimum order is 20 oz. and that is with free overnight shipping and insurance. I would think that if you wanted smaller quantities you should be looking a few dollars over that level. $105 might be a little high unless that includes shipping.

From what I see, most smaller bullion coins have a slightly high premium as it's more affordable and easier to sell although I do think 105USD is rather high.

You could buy the older gold coins at coin dealers. ebay is another option, but be careful when buying.
