Please help with authenticity and grade for this 1909-S. What would you pay for it? It is being offered on a local Facebook board. Sorry but these are the only pics available.

It's about nan $80 coin in that F-12 condition if authentic, unless someone can ID the correct placement and font of MM, you won't know for sure and is doubtful can from those pix. Not passing my smell test, how much is being asked?

It looks G04 to me and maybe G06 on a good day. I think it's genuine but really isn't worth all that much in that condition. I'd limit it to $50 if considering a purchase.

G4 but that date/MM is VERY questionable IMO. I wouldn't touch that coin!

G-06. At least in these pics, MM looks quite sharp compared to the rest of the coin.

Laid on S. Note the depression around it.

I seriously think we need some close-ups of the date area before we can pass judgement.

We don't need to worry about it being purchased, at least by me. The seller is asking $145

It's counterfeit. Probably artificially worn to make it look more genuine.

Quote:We don't need to worry about it being purchased, at least by me. The seller is asking $145 That's a laughable asking price and I'm glad you posted it for all to see. For $145 you can find a very nice, top TPG authenticated, 1909-S LWC in XF condition. This is a semi-key date with beautiful chocolate brown XF pieces out there in the $150 range in PCGS/NGC/ANACS slabs. You can crack them out if you want a raw piece. I've had a few in the past and they are well worth owning.
