I bought this roll of quarters thinking I may find a few decent
coins in the mix. Got it for a good price, noting tape on the
end of the roll could mean anything. Both enders were toned, with
a spiral shaped scratch from the auto rolling machine. Bank of
Montreal Bay St Toronto, kind of neat wrapper. Some had red ink
on one side, same colour as the wrapper ink, not sure where that
came from, some with toning indicative of moisture. Hard to
access the coins had to cut the paper off carefully, wore my
cotton gloves the whole time. Many were weak strikes with die
burn around the ear neck of the Queen and ear of the caribou. See
the pictures, I think I might have a 65 in there. Most coins had
a cameo appearance. Good time.

Thanks for the comments, yes there are some frosty cameos
in the bunch, I have put aside 4 that are heavy. Here
are some pics of another fine example and two with the
red ink. Any ideas of what the red staining is?

Maybe something rusty was leaking iron oxide ( a rusty piece of metal ?) into the roll.

Try acetone on it.

My wife thought it was the ink off the roll, as did I.
Almost a hazy coppery green on the outside of the red.
