The coin is quite well cleaned and is very smooth to the touch- you are seeing porosity, not encrustation. I could maybe "zap" some of the patina off, but I don't think much more detail is to be had. I am considering selling this one for some scratch toward a Bolskan denarius someday, this coins would maybe get me 1/4 to 1/3 of the way there. Report this Post to the Staff
