I don't know about you guys ,but I would not buy or bid on coins from a seller who dose not accept returns . Seems to me he just wants to collect his money and doesn't care about customer service . any other comments on this subject ?

I sometimes do not offer returns as well on low value items. If something is less than $15 and it will cost me $3 to ship it, I only want to do it once. You can still return it if it is significantly not as described.

It doesn't matter if they don't offer refunds. Open an ebay dispute case and you are almost guaranteed your money back.

Plenty of ebay sellers will not accept returns. WHY? I'll answer that: Many of them are selling counterfeit items. They don't want it sent back to their actual home or business. They don't want authorities at their door with hand cuffs. That's why they advertise NO-RETURNS.

I think mark above hit it on the mark, even if you don't accept returns, if you open up a dispute, you will get your money back

I advertise my items explicitly and wholly disclosed. I do not offer returns, one, as stated above, low dollar item, for most part my profit is equal or less than shipping costs...once. Two, with truthful disclosure, only jerks would try to "return" bags of 1000 or 5000 LWC which I would have no way of knowing buyer doesn't do some R & R on me, same thing with LWC collections. All are fully described, photographed so buyer knows before hand, he won't buy if not interested, most likely not a "returner". Three, I follow USPS tracking, why? Used to be a rural mail carrier, that's why. Know in real time if there's a problem. Recently, watched item "out for delivery" become UAA, "undeliverable as addressed" and was able to send replacement next day, while in contact with customer. Another package had tracking stop in " mid ship". I immediately alerted customer of potential problem. Package eventually showed up two days late, even with packing tape and two way strapping tape some USPS wimp dropped the 33lb+ package splitting the box open and destroying the tracking number. At least address/return was intact under the cellophane shrinkwrap...the insides were OK, customer was quite satisfied. You work this way, you'll have few if any returns or complaints, quaranty it!

I don't accept returns when I sell coins, as it is not a product that might not work as advertised or shoes that might not fit. I always have accurate pictures and descriptions. If there is a flaw, I make sure it is apparent in my pictures. Personally, I have learned the hard way sometimes with pictures that were not necessarily dishonest, but not completely revealing. When I buy coins, I sometimes regret it upon opening the package, but I don't try to return it if I just didn't look carefully enough at the picture or the seller didn't do anything unethical. I am not a business, I am first and foremost a collector, and don't want to waste time with crazies or unreasonable customers. Of course, if I made a mistake then I would make it right, but buyer's remorse in my opinion is the buyer's problem.

I offer 30 day returns and 1 day shipping because I pay less ebay fees when I do that. Besides, as others said, if they don't want the item they are 99% going to be able to return it anyway through ebay complaint.

Quote:It doesn't matter if they don't offer refunds. Open an ebay dispute case and you are almost guaranteed your money back. That might be true, but doesn't mean it's right... While offering no hassle refunds is just good business, people do abuse SNAD cases (Significantly Not As Described). The most frustrating ones are the people who purchase decent value items, list themselves on ebay, then return just before the return period is over, opening up a SNAD case so they don't even need to pay for return shipping...

I have been scammed before while selling coins before on ebay, and I lost money because of it (The buyer also returned the coin where it wasn't the same condition I sent it). ebay did nothing to help me and sided with the buyer which they do almost 99% of the time. I do not offer returns now because people do abuse the system. I am a very honest person and seller and do my best to take different angles of the coin in different lighting. I even mention in the description if I think the coin may have an issue such as cleaning, damage, etc. If someone is to lazy to look over the photos and the description that I took the time to write, then it is honestly their own fault. Just my Two Cents on the topic. I only sell now on ebay if I need to. Most of the time I will post coins for sale here on CCF and do give members a better deal because I won't have to pay ebay fees.

I've got almost 1000 reviews on ebay, 100 % positive. And I do not accept returns. Why? Well here in Germany, you have to accept it unless you are a private seller. When I sell coins on ebay.com and ship to the states, I'd have to pay for terribly high shipping costs and it would take months. Furthermore, if something gets lost it is time consuming for me to file insurance claims or something like that. I always provide good photos and ask sellers to see the item for themselves. By the way: All of the coins that I sell and that I have sold are genuine.
