I don't really like Best Offer Option. I have free shipping on CD's when I list them. In reality, shipping is included in the cost of the item. For example, I listed a brand new and sealed Bruno Mars CD for $10.99 w/free shipping. But when I get a lowball offer of $8.00 w/free shipping plus eBay/PayPal fees I am taking too big of a loss to accept such offer.

It is nice to get actual activity if you are selling things just to recoup finances and know that you may not get the highest $ amount. For ex. a number of my world crown coins I got for pretty cheap at my LCS so even best offers will at least get my money back from them and makes it more appealing to buyers.

If you're not happy with the offer, decline it or let it expire.

I declined the offers and removed the option to make offers. I don't think my asking price is unreasonable. I'm actually selling it for less than what I paid. I buy all my CD's from Amazon. With most, you get a free mp3 copy of the CD and the CD gets here 2 days later. Since I already got the free mp3's from the purchase I don't need to open the CD I get and I can sell it and recoup some of the money.

So you don't need the CD, what makes you think someone else will want to buy a CD? You are very lucky someone offered you $8. Still can't wrap my head around the fact that you still buy CDs. Ok.

I have close to 500 CD's. I like the physical product...I am old school that way. I just wasn't really digging this one a whole lot. If I sold it for $8, I would have only gotten around $4 after the shipping and eBay/PayPal fees. That's practically giving it away. I might have accepted the offer if I didn't offer free shipping.

I rarely offer Best Offer anymore, as it only encouraged people to try and steal it for next to nothing. I only use this when I am just liquidating at almost any price, like I'm doing now with some old Pokemon stuff.

I concur on Best offer. I have a set of kennedy halfs 2012 - 2016 P&D from mint rolls. Recent sold prices are 20.99 and up. I am asking 17. Got an offer for 12. Declined.

My experience as both a buyer and seller is negative toward BIN.

I only do auctions now for selling and always start at 99 cents with no reserve. I get what it's worth and more than expected occasionally.

Sellers simply don't do their homework much too often. I might see the last 12 sales on a coin I want averaged $200, seller has one for sale with BIN of $220. I offer $200. They say no with no counter. I see the same coin advertised for the next year, always at the $220 BIN. Blah....

There is a way to set Best Offer to the lowest you will accept. If your BIN is $10, set it for $9.99, this will automatically reject the offer, telling your prospective buyer you ain't dealin'

Unless you are actually willing to go a reasonable amount below the BIN, it is not a good strategy to have best offer. As a buyer, if there is a best offer option, I will never purchase at the BIN price, I will always expect to be able to get at least 5% off, often 10-20%. I have made a good number of purchases and a few sales using BO, it can be a good strategy.

I only occasionally use a best offer. And only when I really don't care. I have by accident included a best offer. When I first started to use it, I thought I would get maybe 10 to 20 percent off, offers. I quickly found that almost all the offers were for 50 percent of less of my asking price. I would always counter offer with the bottom offer I would take. Most people would insult you by offering anything from a cent more to a dollar more. Some seem really surprised when you decline their offer.

Glad I held off. Just checked and the item sold for what I listed it for... $10.99 shipped is better than $8 shipped.
