The keys to collecting Canada's NCLT (and continuing to be happy in the pursuit) are (IMO):
1) To focus on coins of a specific series/denomination/theme, a collector can quickly get fatigued by trying to collect to broad of a target;
2) Resist the urge to chase the latest "shiny" - a collector can quickly overspend if he/she tries to collect every new innovation claimed by the RCM -- such spending can lead to multiple issues not the least of which is the disappointment over a disparate collection that has not retained its value; and
3) Provide for a small supplemental budget for a couple of guilty pleasure purchases each year (i.e., coins that are outside of one's area of focus but for which a strong attraction is felt). Sometimes you just need to step outside your focus and buy something that makes you feel the joy of collecting!
