Hello members..

First of all, I know virtually nothing about World coins, as I collect US silver and type coins.

I recently purchased a lot of silver coins and it contained Maria Thaler silver coin. The coin got me interested and wanted to see if I can purchase few more pieces. After looking at different places, I noticed that these coins are minted by different countries and there are numerous re-stirkes. Also, I can see that many counterfeit coins are for sale.(my piece might be a counterfeit too)

Can someone explain basic types of Maria Thaler coins, and what to look for when purchasing at ebay?

Thanks in advance..

@CJ, there have been tons of good threads on these Thalers in the past. I recommend starting with these two, but you may find others useful as well:
