It has always until this year, No MM= Philly Mint. 2017 was first year to actually have a P letter, since 1909.

We are talking about pennies, right?

Because I can't think of any US pennies (large cents-Lincolns) that carry a P Mint mark.

A no mint mark penny has always been understood to be from the Philadelphia Mint.
