Are icg graded coins consider as raw ungraded coins? Will you guys buy an ICG graded coin and keep it in the slab or break it open and put in in an air tite holder. If I buy an ICG or anacs coin its because is the same price as an ungraded coin. And most times I crack them open. So my question is, that's icg, anacs grading has any value and I should stop cracking them open or should not waste my time even buying them and stick to NGC or PCGS. Theres some cheap graded icg 70 stuff from hsn on ebay selling for raw prices, I have bought some just for fun. Edited by alvaro77 06/19/2017 11:30 pm

Do whatever you want with ICG slabs. ANACS grading does have value. I wouldn't crack those unless I was sure of an upgrade.

ICG yes, but I would keep ANACS as is.. especially Morgans.

I would not crack my ICG holders if I happened to buy one, just for protecting the coin. ANACS is actually my second favorite grading company, after PCGS, for Morgans so I won't crack ANACS holders either.

I'm glad to see ANACS respected here.

From what I have seen lately, ANACS is more consistent than the other top two especially on Morgan dollars. All the slabbers miss on some coins, they are using humans for grading. ICG, better grade the coin and ignore what is one the slab.

I have a couple of ICG slabbed coins in my type set and they IMHO are properly graded coins. But I have to say I do prefer PCGS slabs for classic coins.
But I am not planning on selling so I am not concerned since I like the coins.
