I considered cancelling mine but I'm keeping it. It really is nice and unique. Low mintage for something that commemorates our 150th anniversary.
I think once this is in hand, it will be a beauty. The pics on TSC looked great. Now have to wait until October to get it.
TSC did a security check phone call on me for this coin yesterday. Because the credit card I used was in my name but the account (linked to my email address) is in my wifes name. I told them I did this before with no issues but they said because the value was so high, they were just checking.

I am keeping my order as well. It looked really unique when Bromberg showed it on the Coin Show.

It's a cool "coin" puzzle concept but price is a problem- Perhaps more puzzles to come since they now have a concept acceptable to some collectors-

It is an interesting idea though to me, it's not worth the price. That of course is a personal decision each buyer must make. Since it's all contained in one capsule, it might look nice on a wall next to something like this... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-CANA...AOSwLVZVq1wH But I have to admit that the market manipulation we're again seeing with a commissioned coin is a huge turn off.

I totally agree with the market manipulation CC-Ottawa. It's my only problem with buying this coin.
Bromberg manipulates the market with his commissioned coins and literally tells lies about how things are doing in the aftermarket when he's pushing his stuff. It just seems "greasy".
I did get a laugh when I saw him continually pushing his medals. Especially the gold ones. He kept insinuating that the price was not much of a premium over the gold value. Gold value was almost $16,000 and he was selling them for $26,000, seems there's a $10,000 difference.....

Yup, I literally laughed out loud when I heard him say that....10 grand is not much of premium?!

If the RCM was to offer the $50 coin at the center of the "puzzle" in a silver dollar version, I'd happily order one. It reminds me of the 1939 SD but with an anniversary-inspired, selective gold-plated refresh.

That centrepiece sold individually would have been great

14 pieces at 1867 at 900 mintage = 12600 singles coins Better to have sold as a single centrepiece for most collectors

Being all said, and critical of the RCM's policy of a coin a day, this thing will probably sell out at this price

@Electrum
Mintage is 800 and not 900.

No worries. The centrepiece as a standalone coin will come. The RCM will certainly use the dies more than once for "synergy." There will be a pure silver version, a gold version, a platinum version, and a red enamel version. And reverse proof versions for all these four versions above.

Thanks re 800 mintage Maybe also a centrepiece version with flame connector component - where you simply attach your propone canister - another first for RCM no?
