Bobbi.......

Aaaaa, good ole' Topeka. My home for 18 years and where I graduated from HS.

Pretty cool !...I grew up and went to school in Silver Lake, but I've lived in Topeka now since 1987. !......Do you remember where Silver Lake is ?.....11 miles or so west on Hwy 24 ?.......Silver Lake was an awesome place to grow up. I lived out in the country north of there 5 miles or so...sort of "the burbs".......I'm a Northeast Kansas "lifer".....born in Stormont Vail hospital right here !

I hate waiting! Can't you just charter a helicopter and get to Susan and Bobbies place... YESTERDAY!! You're gonna be rich once it's authenticated, anyway.

Holly Molly If you have a 1972 silver Quarter then what in the world do I have, I knew I should wait to see if any one posts something like this, before I make my own statements about my findings, I think I may have something just like yours, struck on a silver planchet. Give me time to cheek my coin out before I post anything. I don't want to look like a fooooool In front of ya all.

I hope you didn't understand my post in a bad way.... Its as if you think I'm joking. But really I'm going to be a man that I am and post my coin, Its only a coin, in the end its what I think it is but really it could be just a normal every day coin that we all see, so don't go thinking this dud is a coin nut or something,,,,, But I could be......................

Eaglefoot, I was on the eastern side while you were west. I was actually born in Big Springs, east of Topeka a few miles, but don't remember how far. We went through there in 1993, coming from the east. It was a real eye-opener. The place was ever so much smaller than when I was visiting my grandparents there. Nothing looked the same. So disappointing. We drove on west into Topeka, and again, things were just not right. One house I spent most of my childhood in across from Washburn U was destroyed by a tornado. It was painful. Almost wish I hadn't gone, but yet glad I got to see ye old homeplace again - the last time.

BTW, good luck eel, hopefully you do have a seemingly one of a kind (or found). I think though that a picture, as unofficial as it might be, would still be interesting and give us here something to go on. You don't have a relative, friend, neighbor, acquaintance, anybody that could take a macro or decently close up pic of the coin just to post up? Maybe go to Kinko's or some other print place and have it carefully scanned and put the file on CD or a flash drive? As for weighing it, post offices now have self-serve kiosks where they have a scale on there. Bring it to a coin dealer. THE SUPERMARKET GROCERY SCALES?! J/k on that last one. Just saying, if I had something like that, I'd use every possible idea to find out sooner than later if I had something that is worth a small fortune! Heck, I've gone farther trying to figure out songs I couldn't remember or who was in what movie and other inane things. Best of luck...

Is it or isn't it?...

If it is...Whooo Sweet.

If it ain't...it'll still be "the quarter that caused a rukus 'round the world". This coin is already famous!.
