More pics -different 1999 LMC.

Nice little die crack in the center of the Lincoln Memorial facade and going into the column, and just to the right and down, a nice size die chip which also looks like another die chip on top of the first- very strange looking chip.

Also- die chip inside of the letter E of CENT and below it & a very tiny chip just above the FG initials.

The obverse- "IN GOD WE TRUST ETC" what do you call that?- the metal has been rolled up from the rim like a piece of dough- it this a mint error or post-mint damage?

I hate those darn post 1982 cents. I think what is happening with your coin is the same thing that I found to be going on with one of my cents. All cents after 1982 are zinc coated with copper, the problem is that the zinc starts to corrode and bubble up. At first it looks like die chips, but then it progresses until the whole coin is corroding away. Here is a pic of one I have that is bubbling.

Thanks.

The Obverse really looks terrible- its a shame because the reverse on this coin has some nice chips and the little die crack.

I'll keep it along with all the other "interesting varities" that ain't worth the powder to blow them away with, but look cool (LOL)
