so - I have posed this question - more than once...but I am still having some confiednce issues concerning identifying/atributing - know varieties.

this time I am talking about 1998P DDR's

over time I have found quite a few doubled die reverses. I mostly have them seperated into cups, by date and mint marks. I am currently not able to invest in any new boxes or rolls to search - so I am spending time trying to identify coins I have already found.

i have a total of 30 - 1998P DDR's

i have have been refering to Wexlers - listings.

of the first 10 that I have attempet to identify, I have found only 1 that I am certain is the same as one in his listing. I dont find a listed match for the other 9 (with 20 more to go).

the title of the wexlers list says 1998P (complete).

i guess my question is - am I doing something dramatically wrong here. only one in ten (from a complete listing) - seems statistically out of range, .
i am using an inexpsnsive microscope, with plenty of lighting - but it still maginifies the coin enough that I should be able to match (or not) a know listed clon.

it is sort of frustrating...
i am going to continue trying - but something seems wrong.

Not sure what you are looking at. Denominations? Hub doubling? Or they maybe not listed yet, or too minor to list?
Rest in Peace

Going ot assume you're referring to LMC DDR. Have you used Coppercoins?

I've found it easier to use than Wexlers and most time more complete

You are not alone. I have two rolls of 1998 DDRs that I can not match up. "Complete" on Wexler's site only means that he has posted all the coins that have been submitted to him if they are not too minor for him to list. Send some to him. I just got some coins back from him the other day(but not 1998).

When Bob was still listing on CC's he felt that there were some doubled column reverses that were just not significant eniugh to be listed.

Very true , there are worthy dies out there. This is a 2000P I have that Bob said would meet CC's criteria. Extra column and knees.I just never bothered with sending it in.

There are only so many doubled dies for each year. I think one day the minor ones will be added to the current compiled lists and we'll see the real Completed listings.
