Reminds me of Venus on a half shell, Sea World perchance...

There were a lot of celebrations back then, don't recognize it, must have been more private, localized not a "National" event...looks more "gaming" type...quarter size?

I found this one that may help:

https://www.catawiki.com/catalog/to...m-eagle-1976

Also, there appears to be a maker's mark near the © on the obverse:

Crazybo it's actually larger than a Franklin dollar and twice as thick . Thanks spruette that's a great page to have in my info bookmarks. I don't think it's of much value if any just thought it was kinda neat and it was pretty much free. Thanks again guys.
Rest in Peace

There were more "coin like" tokens produced in 1975-1976 than you can today imagine. The vast majority, as with this example, were of base metal, usually produced as a product or business promotion, or as souvenirs. All for the bicentennial.

I've never heard of anyone attempting to collect them.

Thanks moxking. I remember the bicentennial fairly well. You are correct there was some kind of commemorative trinket or coin everywhere you looked. I am gathering several different ones it seems.

I'll be sorting my "junk" tokens (tax, transportation, wooden nickels, etc., etc.) this fall. I have a couple pretty heavy bags to go through. It seems like every collection I've bought in the last many months has had a box or book or bag of tokens. I've pulled all the merchant or civil war, but I'm betting there are a few 76'ers in that batch. I'll let you know via PM if I find any, and I'll gladly donate them to your collection for the cost of postage (probably about $3).
