Going through my jar of spare change looking for anything special before I hauled it to the bank, I found this nickel with a lot of missing detail in the effigy, the left wording, and some beads on the obverse. Is this an error in striking or was someone just creatively bored one day?

Looks like a Grease Filled Die.

Definitely an error. Grease Filled Die otherwise known as Struck Through Grease. Very nice example.
