Very interesting.

Can you please put these in the right section? There is a sticky section here on counterfeits. That's where they belong. I can't move them into that section.

Always interesting to see the process. Why are they heating the blank in a hole in olive wood ? Is there any reason ? albert

Yes, the reason is to incorporate small particles of coal and ashes to the silver...
If you donīt do that the silver is too pure and the surface of the coin is very different of a genuine coin...
You must remember that he is using modern silver 999 fine instead of an alloy of silver, copper, lead...

small and big silver old ingots found in metal detection are sold to Spain, they pay much above the silver market price. collectors are buying fake coins with old silver.
