I found in a small town. I dont know if it is a proof, but it's really clean . I'm new to the Coin World and don't know much about grading. I appreciate the support and knowledge I get from more experienced people in the forum. I'm here for un-biased opinons and knowledge. I am taking pictures from an iphone so they don't do justice for the coins and any tips on how you photograph coins is much appreciated and if you think I should send it in to get graded. thanks!!

to CCF. Please do not post photos sideways. Your coin looks like a proof coin. Not worth getting graded. When a proof coin is found in circulation it is referred to as an impaired proof most of the time.

with John 1, it looks like a proof. It also appears to have been cleaned up a bit, so it has been around a little.

Proofs have higher definition because they've been struck twice or with higher pressure. to CCF@

it's not worth paying to have it graded. If you look to the left of this page, there's a link on grading it yourself. It's not extremely valuable, but is a step up from an average nickel. I'd call it a long term keeper. Nice find.
