I saw this coin in a local pawn shop and was curious to see what the forum thought of the discoloration on the obverse. Didn't know if it was worth picking up or not.

What's the stripe? It looks like a sliver of tape was on it at one point. If it's a 1901o it's only worth around $20

I wouldn't pay any more than $22 for it. The stripe on the obverse basically renders it a cull piece IMO.

As said, don't go crazy, just offer silver price, maybe a little bit more or less, and see he says.
If you can find a better example at a reasonable price, I would go for that. Personally, I wouldn't go over $16 tops.

Cheap is cheap for a reason. It's usually because the coin is too ugly to attract anyone but the bargain hunter. Save your money.
