Joy, welcome to the forum! The wheat cents weigh 3.11 grams. Thr Memorial cents also weigh 3.11 grams, until 1982, when the zinc cent came into the picture, The zinc cents weigh 2.5 grams. In 1982, there are seven varieties of the cent, with the weight difference, and the large and small dates. One more thing to remember is, in 1990, the mint marks were put on the working hub, and not hand-punched , as they wee before.
