So I know this coin isn't in the best condition but something about it just appeals to me. I know it's a Ptolemaic coin but am stumped as to which ruler it is. I hope there is enough detail to figure it out! Weighs 18.2g and is 26mm diameter.

So this next coin is Gordian III. Is this the exact coin? Not sure if there are varieties or anything! Weighs 18.2g and 29mm diameter http://coinproject.com/coin_detail.php?coin=184569

Regarding the Ptolemaic: there is a remnant of an oval shield in the left reverse field, and so possibly Ptolemy II.

See the "Ptolemy II - Sicily & Syracuse - Pre-Reform ca. 270-260BC" section at ptolemybronze for reference: http://ptolemybronze.com/ptolemy_series.html

The Ptolemy coin is pretty worn, but I think it might be Ptolemy IV-V from the Tyre reverse series.

If you haven't already done so, check out the sticky section here on Books, Downloads, and websites. There you will find a lot of reference material that will help ID your coins.

The other coin must be from Viminacium
