Mike F. > I would love to show off to you guys my 54 year old collection ,but because I'm old school it is very difficult for me to provide photos on this site . Thanks Bobby for trying to make it easier for most of us , but I need a book called ( Posting Photos For Dummies ).

Hey T-BOP, when you find that book (Posting Photos for Dummies), I'd like to know where to get one. The tutorials on this site, I'm sure, are really good but they're written from the mind of tech savy person and I'm not one. Maybe Crazyb0 will have a chapter on posting photos in his book And yes, we do care.

Oooo don't get me started. My wife says when I die she will spend my collection with her regular money. She did buy me a gold coin this past Christmas. I have got her looking at work and the bank for 2017 pennies and other change in rolls. And got my sister in law looking through her change every day. BUT she says it will spend at my death to pay the bills.
congrats on the set T-BOP/photos

I care. We trust you.....and I bet it's a beautiful set too. Your preaching to the choir T-BOP. My family and close friends have a zero interest in my coins or coin collecting in general. I bet if I drop dead five minutes from now that interest would change fast. At this point, if some little kid down the street showed a major/genuine interest and enthusiasm in coin collecting, asking question, searching rolls, filling albums, saving his (or her) money to actually buy coins, etc... I would give the kid my collection before I died. Wouldn't that anger some family members. See, you should always take an interest in your fathers coin collection.

Yeah, I collect because I like the satisfaction of making progress towards a goal and the history involved. CCF is a great lifeline to other collectors because most normal people don't get it

My family members has no interest in it like most in this forum, but I have started to make a list of what is it worth, so at least they wont get too rip off when they decide to sell.

Some of my friends actually look at me as if they expect the Flintstone car or a horse and carriage parked outside to take me back to my cave when I say that I collect coins. They also look at me as if I'm some sort of time traveling Neanderthal man, going back to feed my mastodon when leaving. Here in Scandinavia, coins are a thing of the past. Relics of days gone by. Despite not being super young anymore, I'm probably still one of the youngest coin collectors around here. And I don't give a flying frog. It's my hobby. Nowadays my wife is most occupied with that my hobby isn't visible. I used to do some coining in the living room, as it's cozy to be in the same room, but now the coin have to be removed all the time in case we suddenly have guests or so... Oh well. Not that I've actually been home much recently, anyway... Furthermore, it's wise to assume that no one except us, coin collectors, knows about the difference between numismatic value, face value and metal value. So I now try to make a list of what the coins are worth (picking the highest of the three). Metal value and face value are now understood, but numismatic value seems to be a tricky one, as there are no strict guidelines on how to find those. And especially that is what makes our hobby so interesting: it's about finding great deals, about negotiating, about taking chances. It's exciting. The fun part is to me that I enjoy this. I don't need anyone to enjoy it for me. And when I'm gone, well... I do my best to make sure my collection is understood, but honestly, it won't be my problem anymore, so to say. I just hope that everyone understands that I had fun building it.

T-BOP - Agree completely. I play around with the new photo posting system all the time, but have never been able to upload a pic larger than 90kb - everything higher is rejected.

If I complete a set of coins, say Jefferson nickels, I would look at it and say "Who Cares?" Then I would pop them all out and spend them.

T=Bop, I use Adobe Photoshop to alter all my pix. Interestingly enough, I have found since CCf upgraded and reworked the optimizer I can upload upwards to 340Kb size. the old one got whacked at 303Kb. Only thing I have trouble with is bandwidth, too much traffic on site at certain times there's a lag on uploads, sometimes significant. That just may be my IP too. I've posted before about my worthless, iggit relatives. I don't think some of them have enough smarts to get the coins OUT of the albums. They'd be trying to cut the plastic with a hunting knife, kinda like they do on the 2x2 coins I've given them!

Hmmm, I've had no problems uploading photos from my iPad, up to and a little over 300k. If they are larger than that, I use the free image optimizer. Are you using the Upload Image link and if over 300k, the Free Image Optimizer? Works like a charm for me. If either T-Bop or coinfrog can provide some details - where are your original pictures, what steps are you taking, etc. maybe someone can help. I do admit that having pictures available for others to look at let's me feel like I am sharing my collection with someone who cares at least!

My wife says "nice" how much did you pay for that, those. My next statement is always I know it's worth more than I paid for it, those. I think she then checks prices of caskets, in my size lol.
