You did very well!! Doubt if it would happen in Oz. Overall Fine grade, taking some strike weakness into account in my opinion. Sells for around $100 AUS. in this country.

I empathize with your good fortune.

Sometimes, luck goes the other way. Value in this condition around $100 U.S.
However, according to my experience, it would be a bit hard to actually get $100 for it in the U.S.


A couple of years ago, I picked up a '23S SLQ in VF, out of a World silver coins junk box for AUD $5. I on sold it for a very nice profit.
However, I would have been able to sell it for much more in the U.S.

Looks average because of the weak strike but I suspect its a bit better.
If it were mine I'd consider sending to PCGS.
I reckon it would grade well as they dont care about strike.

I don't know why they call them "junk boxes". That coin is anything but junk. Maybe I should go over to the US to see whether I can find a 1930 penny in one.

I suspect that if you did, it would have belonged there.
