1943 Steel Cent Looking Fine? - Coin Community Forum

CoinRookie1975 New Member United States 35 Posts	Posted 07/14/2017 6:58 pm I was given a few coins by my dad, that were his dad's. Do you think it's repeated or original finish. Value if sold today at retail price is less than $1 ... definitely not a coin worthy of professional grading/certification. Politely suggest that you keep this as a nice keepsake from your family. Recoated or reprocessed (not sure what the exact term is) steel cents are much more shiny. The dark ones you saw are all rusting away and corroded, which is very common for these. It does appear to have a slight amount of wear though. AU-53 1943 is a common coin.
