hi everyone, I've been very busy lately. glad to be back with my friends on CC.....anyway, got this 1975 LMC that I posted awhile back but I got to looking at it again, " you know how that goes" has a weird color, it's very shiny, has not been coated with anything, weights 3.1g ...it's maybe nothing but thought i'd ask again. repost with 2 other 1975 LMC of different color for comparison .....maybe wrong alloy mixture? ....thanks for your opinions .....glad to be back ...terry.

Looks like the color change came from the coin being heated and maybe some chemicals.

There are entire websites devoted to 'how to change the color of a copper cent'.

I found a similar one a couple days ago but it is a 1978.

The first set of images has a poor white balance skewing the color but it appears that the coin on the left is a normal oxidized brown color while the coin on the right still retains some original mint red color. For the last group dated 1978, the coin on the right has been cleaned.
