Good day Cc I have an opportunity to purchase this coin for 25. I don't know much about them so thought I'd ask and see what general census is. Thank you! Chris in Cali

No that's what's weird lol. But it's not going to be an online but in person. Should I look for anything special?

Chris,

I suspect it's a Philadelphia coin. They are very common and this one appears to have been cleaned. If both assumptions are correct, it's true worth is about $15. The only 1886-P VAM that carries any kind of premium is the VAM 20, Doubled Date and this is not a VAM 20.

If the coin has an `O` or `S` mintmark, grab it.

It looks like it might be polished, too.
Rest in Peace

It's not a terrible price, but it's far from a bargain.

I myself would pass on this coin.

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. UPDATE, no update yet hehe went to my folks house and assembled a swing set for my lil niece. Hopefully tomorrow or today now in Cali I will see the reverse-less pictured coin. If for nothing else it will be an experience to add to the old tool box. Ttyl CC
