Four extremely rare -raw- 3cs have hit ebay in the last couple days. Two from our friends GSC and two from another seller.

They are just too perfect not to set off my radar, but I wanted other opinions...

You get two kinds of stars on proofs. Ones that are blobby (left) and ones that have full definition (right).

Section is from PCGS' CoinFacts photos.

With only 500 proofs, could be just one die pair (Flynn and Zack indicate 4 Obverse and 2 reverse dies were used to strike 8,000 business strikes).

One thing I have noticed about these photos from GSC is that they are heavily desaturated, i.e. the colors have been stripped leaving only black and white and grayscale.
This is commonly done to hide unattractive toning, or, with contrast manipulation, to artificially enhance the prooflike/cameo effect.
