Four extremely rare -raw- 3cs have hit ebay in the last couple days. Two from our friends GSC and two from another seller.

They are just too perfect not to set off my radar, but I wanted other opinions...

My gut said fake. Everything looks fuzzy, especially the reverse. It has been scrubbed with a brillo pad, so it best to avoid it anyway.

It looks genuine to me, but definitely cleaned.

Fake, Because if you look at the rim on the top left corner added edging. Also it is really scraped up.

Far from perfect, also far from genuine. If I could post pictures, I would show you one that is a high grade Proof.

Not sure why you can't post pictures Bill... never-the-less, I know what a proof looks like, this purports to be a business strike (much less common).

Picker - just because it's damaged doesn't make it fake. Although people do intentionally damage coins to hide that they are counterfeit. Not sure what "added edging" means.

I figured out what bothers me. On the reverse, the C has a lot of the finning detail - this almost always disappears with even the slightest wear. So I can't figure out the almost pristine reverse (except for the teething marks on the rim) with the obverse that looks like it lost a war.

It has the expected die crack but otherwise looks really nasty, either a very mushy fake or a heavily whizzed real coin, perhaps ex-jewellery and therefore exposed to major damages; e.g. mounted obverse-up in a ring mount, wherein the obverse would be vulnerable to hits.
