Hi everyone, I recently acquired a parthian bronze/copper coin from a reputable dealer. I know almost nothing about this type of coin - but the design is really cool. The dealer suggested that it is possibly minted in the name of Phraates, son of Orodes. However, I'm really not sure. Any help IDing this coin would be appreciated!

BobL knows all about these and has helped me a great deal in attributing my own Elymais coins.

I'm sure he'll be along.

In the mean time I think it might be this....
Head of Phraates facing, wearing tiara; to right, crescent and anchor
Radiate Artemis-Nanaia standing right, drawing arrow and holding bow
Van't Haaf 14.1
But I'm probably completely wrong! Bob will know

Nice coin

Paul, the only thing that's incorrecto is this:

Otherwise, completely correct...well, except for the missing extra "f" in Van't Haaff.

Good call. Van't Haaff type 14.1, an AE drachm of Phraates, early to mid 2nd century AD.

Neat little coin, Archraz!
