Hard to describe - but simple and fast.

Hold roll upright. Turn knife on its side so the sharp surface is a 90 degree to the top of the roll. Insert knife edge under the rim from the INSIDE. Very slightly put pressure upward on the knife as if trying to uncrimp the rolls top edge. While lifting the knife, my thumb is in contact with the upper flat edge of the blade and I "peel" the crimped ring of the roll off. backwards. .

Then rip the rest of the wrapper off easily. No, I don't mark up the top coin with this technique.

I just peal the outer edge on each end and tear it open. Usually just unroll them into my hand then.

I tried pushing the coins out of un-crimped rolls in an entire box one night and ended up with a blood blister!

Does anyone have the time to invent an "uncrimping" machine?

There seems to be a market.

I use a table saw; it's fast but tough on the blades.

Suppose I could get someone to reverse engineer it.
