Hello, I use to collect coins back in the seventies when I was a kid. My mother recently passed and when I went down to the funeral my father gave me a box with some of my old coins. Nothing special, as far as coins go, except for this one. I remember finding this in my change when I was a kid and I put it in one of those cardboard coin holders. Anyway, I was curious if this was an error coin. Thanks, Larry.

I am not so sure it is an error coin created at the mint. It looks like it was put in a vise or hydraulic press between two other cent coins.

Lew of CCF First I would like to say how sorry I am to hear about your Mom's passing - All the best to you and your family. As far as your cent goes, unfortunately, it is not an error. It looks like someone put another cent (looks like 1971) on top of this one and squeezed them together and that is what it ends up looking like. Hope you keep coming back though.

Yes, it looks like it was smashed between a 1971 and a 1967 cent that left their mirrored impressions on your coin. Just post-mint damage unfortunately.

post mint damage. Someone had to much time on their hands. However, some folks here would say your 69-D Lincoln Cent could never or would never come from the mint that way. Stranger things have happened.... Does anyone remember the Dime struck on a nail? PCGS actually graded it and called it a Mint error! Wish I could post a picture of it. I'm still learning how to use this forum.

Sorry to pop your bubble, but it's heavy PMD. This is what you call a garage job. No extra value added. Worth one cent.
