I am finding the older uncirculated quarters from the 50's on ebay to be quite expensive in comparison to the prices listed in the Charlton and Haxby. Plus those dates are are somewhat sparse and mostly slabbed. Those dates don't look to be rare either.

A lot of people, including me, have noticed that ebay prices tend to be high for almost everything.

I think that you would be better off at a coin show or a local dealer who may eventually offer you a discount off Charlton and Haxby.

Some of these US sellers on ebay are selling Canadian coins at what the Charlton and Haxby books list them for. But those books I believe list in CDN dollars and they are listing them in USD w/o using the exchange rate making the coins more. Hope that makes sense. I don't know of any LCS around me.

I do quite well at my local flea markets . Like the LCS you also get to see coin in hand.
Sure they want to make a profit also but for me I find the margin can be a lot smaller.
They want the sale more than huge profit it seems. But , finding a vendor with decent inventory
who also replenishes said can be tricky. But hey, who doesn't like a flea market?
