unfortunately doesn't prove anything, perhaps that is their favorite seller..most shills, will show a few bid retractions.
Rest in Peace

Silverwolf, on ebay maybe, not other auction sites. Done a few, love them shills, can be quite the game...as long as I jump ship at the right time!. Bids run up fast in last few minutes, especially extended biddings. Like living on the edge, set how much max you willing to pay if stuck with it(conservative of course) . always amusing to see item next week back up for bids, this auction house on list of no-nos thereafter!

I did check the bids OP referenced. Saw nothing unusual @ toned 50c, flurry of last minute bids won over most timed serious bidders. If anything, a wise bidder had done his homework and pounced at the end, is all. No shills there.

When we were selling on ebay, we had at least a dozen buyers that were 100% with us. They were people Susan met at shows and flea markets that never used ebay and only signed up because of her. So 100% activity with a seller is zero proof of shilling.

Thanks for the opinions all. Just curious is all -- Seemed a bit suspicious to me, but I suppose it is their favorite seller.

Yeah, I don't really see anything suspicious about that. I have "Followed Sellers" on ebay because I liked the prices and experience and they have a lot of what I'm interested in listed.

The multiple bids in a row is nothing to be concerned about. That's just the bidder fighting with themselves about whether to "bid a little higher just in case." It's happened many times on other non-coin things I've sold and a lot of times it was unnecessary and they won it for the lower bid and were satisfied.

Sometimes I put in a few bids in a row, because I want to raise my high bid.

Mostly buyers do it because it raises the bid count, although it shouldn't*, in an effort to scare away other buyers. The hope is potential future buyers will think too many people want it and they won't get a deal.

* In my opinion ebay should only raise the bid count when the high bidder changes. Any other bids are just fluff.

What would give me pause on this item is that the reverse is on the front side of the slab, I haven't seen that before. Wouldn't the TPG put the coin in heads up?

I could be wrong, but I think you can request it to be reverse up when submitted. The toning would explain the request.

The seller has a strong following for toned coins, and the bidders are very active. It would not surprise in any way for some of his buyers to only buy from this seller.

If the toning is on the reverse or the reverse may be more appealing than the obverse, you can request for them to switch it so the reverse is on the front side of the slab.
