so one of my friends who owed me money paid me with 2 rolls of uncirculated Kennedy half dollars coins. 1967 and 1996..I was more interested in the 1967 so I took the coins out of the roll to look at every single one. Since it was uncirculated the coins were shiny and clean. The very first coin at the top of the roll had "818" scribed or engraved on it. I hope you can see it in the picture I attached. Just curious what does it mean? and does it make the coin more valuable? please I tried to read up and research but I never read or saw anything engraved on any coins. Thanks.

And your 1967 Kennedy is 40% silver so it is worth a couple of dollars or
so but no, the 818 counterstamp does not add any value.
Rest in Peace

Silver is still silver even if it's a smaller amount.

I have no idea why someone would put 818 on that coin.

Maybe it was someone's 818th silver coin?
