My computer just crashed, lost everything so can't pull up MMD from coop. If the upper right corner of WE has a both/line, then its MDD.

lovely lady
Thank You

I have found so many of the MDD's, and each time I think I've got a real DDO until I do the comparisons to the MDD images.
I have yet to find a true DDO of this year. I guess we'll both have to keep searching.

I can't pick anything up on this one. I found two 1972 D DDO cents and the L of liberty is a strong pup along with the 2 of 1972. The motto on my two shows doubling from face on but if they are turned slanted then Bam! you see clear doubling on every letter of the motto.
I understand there are 1972 S DDO cents also. I have been looking for one bigtime. Here in Oregon any Philadelphia cent is not very common so I keep pounding the D's and S's. I bought a 1972 FS-102 in XF-40 as a teaching coin, it helped because for me I had trouble with understanding subtle notches and serrifs.
Having a low grade DDO as reference enables me to use die marks and pups more closely. I found a 1959 FS-101 in about AU-50 in my copper bucket. I had missed it 4 months earlier and after I bought one I started wondering about all those 59's I had and yup I had missed it as I didn't see the small notches in the bottom of the 9's.

Good luck and keep looking.

Honestly until I bought some DDO's and studied them I'm sure I missed some good minor varietys and RPM's.

Keep pounding away fellow roll searcher and good luck on the 72 D.
