I have found several Wheats that have a very yellow, "brassy" color. I have a couple out right now and they are both 1941. Is there a specific reason for the noticeable color difference?

Pics (coin on right compared to normal brown on left):

Positions switched, sorry:

Not uncommon. Copper color varies considerably because of their storage and the environment. The lighter color appears to have been cleaned, which changes the true color forever.

It also looks like a minor Woody.

notice the dark outline around Lincoln where it didn't get cleaned. On both coins, the color SW of the 9 is basically the same.

My first thought was "cleaned" as well.

Brass shell casings were used in certain years around the war years.

, Brass shell casings were not used on your 1941 .
Also agreeing with Moxking ,circulated copper wheats show various shades of brown due to environment and storage .

Agree as well. If you've handled enough Lincolns, you've seen almost every color in the spectrum.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Admittedly, I have looked at a fraction of a percent of what some of you have. Thanks again.

In that case you might want to look at this one. They are mostly yellowish, but also have a slight green tint.
