I've been reading up on Wexler's coins and variety types, it's a lot of information. On this 1951-D Franklin, I think I'm seeing some clashing around the eye on the obverse, in the hair area on obverse, and Machine Doubling in the mottos (reverse) and some die damage that was struck to the mint mark on the reverse? I'd appreciate your input on this coin:
no clash marks only contact marks, on the hair that's a die chip and on the reverse some minor md that doesn't add any value since it's " Machine Doubling"
I agree with Machine Doubling on the reverse. All the marks you point out on the obverse are contact marks. Any clash event artifacts would be on the highest point of the dies which is the fields on the coin.
