Die polishing and thus the attenuation of the design elements can be found on the George VI 50c coins on the Obverse and Reverse of the 1949 through 1952 coins. Most noticeable are the dots etc around the date on the Reverse and the front of the King's visage on the Obverse. Zoell also catalogued a Reverse lack of design around the date on the 1956 50c. On the early Sixties 50c you can also notice the 'twigs' below the shield are badly attenuated on some coins.
